Description

Titan Souls is a single-player top-down action role-playing game with puzzle elements. The story follows a lone wanderer who enters a ruined world in search of mysterious beings known as Titans. Scattered throughout temples, caverns, and wilderness zones, these colossal guardians are bound to fragments of the Titan Soul, a primordial essence that grants power and knowledge. To claim it, the wanderer must defeat all nineteen Titans, each representing a unique challenge.

Gameplay revolves entirely around one-on-one battles with these Titans. The player character carries a single magical arrow that can be shot, recalled, and reused. Firing or retrieving the arrow requires the character to stand still, leaving them vulnerable while charging a shot or summoning it back. Both the player and the Titans can be killed in a single hit, creating a system where precision, timing, and observation are essential. Each Titan has a specific weak point and a distinct behavioral pattern. Some are based on creatures such as plant monsters or rolling slimes, while others take the form of giant golems, living chests, or abstract constructs.

Between battles, exploration is minimal but atmospheric. Players traverse a sparse overworld made up of icy valleys, lava caverns, forest ruins, and ancient shrines. These areas serve as hubs connecting the arenas, with puzzles and hazards acting as light obstacles before reaching a Titan’s domain. There are no additional enemies, loot, or upgrades, and progression is tied strictly to defeating the guardians.

Originally developed as a prototype during Ludum Dare 28, Titan Souls draws inspiration from Shadow of the Colossus, Dark Souls, and early Legend of Zelda titles.
