Tom Baker's Ultimate Sci-Fi Quiz

Tom Baker's Ultimate Sci-Fi Quiz is a family DVD game hosted by Tom Baker, an actor who famously played Doctor Who for many years.

This is a one or two player game, each player captains a space ship. The story behind the game is that the SS Hawking a space exploration vessel, and SS Ark a space station studying alien life, have encountered an uncharted wormhole and has been flung across the galaxy. To get home the players must answer twenty questions correctly.

The questions categories include Literature, Aliens & Monsters, Planets & Worlds, Amazing Craft, Robots, Crazy Science, Earth in Peril and The Early Years. A category can only be used once per game. Once the category has been selected players are asked questions in turn by Tom Baker after which the scene shifts to Amy where the player chooses from four possible answers. If they answer correctly they move closer to Earth, if not they stay where they are. When a question is answered incorrectly the players are NOT shown the correct answer.

The super-massive black hole that moved us so far from home continues to have an effect, randomly throughout the game more wormholes appear just before a question is asked. If the player is in the lead and gets the question right they stay in the lead, otherwise they swap position with the losing player. Conversely if the player is losing and gets the question right swap position with the leading player while if they get the question wrong they stay where they are.

The game ends when a player returns to Earth or when all questions have been asked.
