Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter

Description
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter is a single-player and multiplayer tactical shooter set in the near future. The story follows Captain Scott Mitchell and his team of elite soldiers, known as the Ghosts, as they are deployed to Mexico City during a political crisis. A summit between the leaders of the United States, Canada, and Mexico is disrupted by insurgents, plunging the city into chaos. The Ghosts must restore order, prevent a coup, and protect civilian and allied leaders while facing heavily armed opposition across the sprawling urban environment.
The campaign is built around urban combat, with missions taking place in dense city streets, industrial districts, and landmark areas of Mexico City. Levels combine large outdoor environments with claustrophobic interiors, requiring careful movement, coordination, and the use of cover. Objectives range from escorting convoys to defending positions, rescuing hostages, and disabling enemy strongholds. Players assume command of a small squad of Ghosts, directing them to secure zones, provide suppressive fire, or use specialized weapons to accomplish goals.
A key feature of the Xbox 360 version is the Cross-Com system, an integrated communications device projected into the player’s field of view. This monocle display provides real-time data from satellites, allied forces, and unmanned aerial drones. Through it, players can receive tactical maps, live video feeds, and mission updates, enhancing situational awareness without leaving first-person view. The Cross-Com allows coordination with armored vehicles, helicopters, and supporting units, making combined-arms operations central to the gameplay.
Combat emphasizes tactical shooting over run-and-gun play. Enemies can take cover, flank, and coordinate attacks, while the player must use squad orders, accurate fire, and reconnaissance to gain the upper hand. The arsenal includes contemporary and experimental weaponry, such as assault rifles with optical scopes, rocket launchers, and drones equipped for battlefield scouting. A cover system allows players to lean around corners or blind-fire, increasing survivability in firefights.
Multiplayer expands the experience with a wide variety of modes. Options include cooperative campaigns and objective-based missions, as well as competitive team elimination, territory control, and solo variants of each. Custom game creation allows players to adjust rulesets with modifiers such as respawn timers, kit restrictions, and class limits. Xbox Live support lets players compete online, and a character creation system personalizes each soldier’s appearance in multiplayer matches.
