It is a vertically scrolling versus bullet hell game in which two players (or one player against an AI-controlled opponent) must dodge and shoot the stage's enemies while also attacking each other with spells. Getting hit once loses a life, of which each player has three. The first player to lose all their lives loses the match. The versus style gameplay is similar to other "Phantasmagoria" games in the series such as Phantasmagoria of Dim.Dream and Phantasmagoria of Flower View.
