Description
The 18th main series Touhou game follows Reimu and her friends as they investigate the mysterious appearance of cards throughout Gensokyo which seem to carry secrets. Who's buying and selling them? What are they for?
As far as the protagonists are concerned, the cards are useful for their magic powers - there are 40 different ability cards, with their own special abilities. They come in several different categories: active cards, whose abilities are activated with a button press; passive cards, which have some kind of benefit just from being equipped; equipment, which grant the players helpers to fight alongside them; and extra lives. Players can equip cards at the start of a run, and change their loadout at the end of each stage. While they begin the game with only a few cards, players can unlock more cards after each playthrough.
There are four different playable characters, each with their own abilities. Reimu, the classic main character, is joined by Marisa, Sakuya and Sanae.
