Trainz Railway Simulator: The Collector's Edition is a compilation of the following games:
- Trainz Railroad Simulator 2006
- Trainz Routes 4 Pack
The product comes on a single DVD and installs in two parts, the Trainz Railroad Simulator 2006 and the Routes pack. The four routes install as a single entity, they cannot be installed individually. In addition to the main products this game comes with extra content including an object browser that runs as a screen saver, VistaMare's TrainzMap, and the 'Maglev Project' which was not included in the original release.
The game requires a product key before it will install. That product key is not transferable and when it is registered with 'Planet Auran' the player has access to a database of downloadable content ranging from signal lights to pieces of masonry that build viaducts and much more. The player uses these 'assets' when constructing new routes, stations, etc for use within the game.
