Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Kimmy vs. the Reverend is an interactive special for the streaming series The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. The special was streamed on the Netflix platform but, instead of being a completely passive experience of the viewer watching like a normal episode of the show, in Kimmy vs. the Reverend the viewer is presented with options in which the narrative of the show stops, and the viewer has a limited amount of time to choose between one of two options. (The only exception to this being the final option in the game, which requires choosing from four options instead of two.)
The plot of the special follows Kimmy Schmidt as she prepares for her wedding day to Prince Frederick and, in the process discovers that there are additional victims trapped in underground bunkers as she previously was in her past. During the special, Kimmy travels back to her home state of Indiana in the United States to find the additional captives and to confront her once-captor, Reverend Richard. The special has a variety of different endings depending on which choices the viewer makes, and along the way there are certain choices that are so "bad" that when chosen the special will rewind and force the player to make the other choice.
