UpSoccer

Game cover: UpSoccer

Description

UpSoccer is a commercial adaptation of the game engine used for Throw In, a fan-made 3D remake of Kick Off 2. It maintains the core gameplay and fundamentally overhead view of its inspiration, but adds support for camera rotation, allowing for horizontal or diagonal angles on the pitch. Unlike the original one-button control scheme that Throw In tried to remain faithful to, this game uses four buttons for combinations of short or long passes and high or low shots.

The game uses national teams with fictional player names. It can be played in single matches or in a tournament mode that mimics the FIFA World Cup. Multiplayer is only local, and up to 8 human players can participate in a tournament taking turns. The state of the latest ongoing tournament is automatically saved to disk.

The game was released in Italy as Nutella Football Game, exclusively bundled with special Nutella jars in selected Italian food stores.
