Usborne's Animated First Thousand Words in English and Spanish is an edutainment version of Usborne's book for children "First Thousand Words" by Heather Amery and Stephen Cartwright. The game shows a "Language Switch" (English/Spanish) to practice your own language or learn a second language.

All-in-all, the hybrid CD-ROM features 35 scenes from 6 games :

• Explore: click a picture to learn a word
• Match and color: drag a picture from its window to its matching place in the scene
• Find the word: select the picture of the word
• Collect: fill a container with the pictures from a list of words
• Find the duck: self-explanatory
• Word challenge: words or sounds pop out of a barrell - select the matching pictures

Usborne's Animated First Thousand Words in English and Spanish also features a dictionary. The game requires the 16 bit version of Apple's Quicktime (v2.1 or later) which can be installed along with the game.
