Vampire Survivors

Vampire Survivors is a roguelike horde survival game. The setting places the player in rural landscapes plagued by monsters, where they control a chosen character who must withstand continuous waves of supernatural enemies. Each run begins with only a simple weapon and limited mobility, but survival requires gathering resources, destroying countless foes, and holding out for as long as possible against an ever-growing horde. It can be played by 1 to 4 players.

Gameplay centers on automatic attacks and constant movement. Weapons fire on their own once obtained, leaving the player to focus entirely on positioning, dodging, and navigating dense swarms of enemies. Surviving longer rewards experience gems dropped by defeated creatures, which grant level-ups. Each level-up presents randomized weapon or passive upgrades, encouraging adaptation to the run’s circumstances and offering the possibility to combine items into stronger evolved forms.

Combat escalates with waves of bats, skeletons, werewolves, and other monsters filling the screen in increasing numbers. The objective is not to defeat all foes but to endure until the survival timer reaches its limit, typically thirty minutes, after which an unavoidable final enemy appears to end the run. Because of this design, progress comes not from winning battles but from outlasting the relentless enemy density.

Progression carries across runs through a meta-upgrade system. Players earn gold to purchase permanent enhancements such as improved health, faster movement, or additional projectiles, which apply to all future characters. Numerous characters can be unlocked, each with unique starting weapons and traits. Stages also expand over time, with new maps, enemies, and environmental hazards being revealed. Collectibles known as relics introduce new mechanics like permanent arcana cards, which alter weapon behaviors or unlock special synergies. Hidden secrets and conditions open access to additional characters, stages, and powerful items.
