Video's Revenge

Video's Revenge is a 1-player vertically-scrolling arcade game for the Acorn Electron.

The player controls a Federation fighter, the Power Blaster, against invading waves of intergalactic aliens. The ship can move horizontally, fire vertically upwards, but can also move up and down on the vertically-scrolling screen.

A space scanner on the right side of the screen displays the location of enemy vessels. Alien vessels return fire, and some craft split into smaller pieces when destroyed. The player can use their available ship energy to fire smart bombs which destroy all enemies on the screen, or engage inviso-flight which temporarily makes the player indestructible. The player can also engage power blasting by shooting the alien energy balloon 12 times and collecting the energy pack.

When time runs out, a number of dangerous alien reinforcements arrive. The player starts with three lives, and advances to the next level when all aliens are destroyed.
