Voxelstein 3D

Game cover: Voxelstein 3D

Description

Voxelstein 3D is a prototype first-person shooter developed using the voxel engine by Ken Silverman. As the title suggests, both graphically and content-wise it draws inspiration from Wolfenstein 3D, using objects, sounds and certain enemies from the original game.

The initial release contains a single level set inside a mansion. Using the voxel engine, players can blow up any wall, use a knife to break down bars and generally destroy the entire levels. The weapons include a knife, a pistol, a heavy gun, a time bomb and a pipe bomb. The game includes many nods at other games and also replace the original Hitler pictures by George Bush Jr, Dylan Klebold (Columbine massacre) and Seung-Hui Cho (Virginia Tech massacre). The game retains the original graphics style, but players can also jump, duck and the mouse is fully supported to movement and viewing. There are many secrets and treasure chests to discover.
