Wara² Wars: Gekitō! Daigundan Battle

Game cover: Wara² Wars: Gekitō! Daigundan Battle

Description

Wara² Wars: Gekitō! Daigundan Battle is a turn-based board-game style war strategy game in which multiple factions attempt to conquer and unify all territory on a map. The player selects one of ten nations, and must conquer each continent over a series of maps. The two key features of the game are its focus on streamlined, simplified strategy with only a bare minimum of stats and commands to keep track of, and the large-scale battle scenes where up to 100 units on either side can participate.

Each turn, the player first collects taxes and pays their army, then can use remaining money to hire additional units and purchase special cards which have helpful effects, such as boosting offensive or defensive strength or summon powerful creatures in battle. The player then has five actions to spend each turn, including moving a squad between locations, strengthening a particular squad's offense or defense, or using one of their cards. Increasing units' levels will increase their strength, and grant a special ability at max level. Each nation has their own set of unit types, and conquering a nation's capital allows the player to add that nation's unique units to their own army.
