Wazzal

Wazzal is an action game set in space.

The Sun is soon going to go supernova. A group of friendly aliens offers evacuation, but only for those who can pay. The player takes on the role of a space pirate captain, eager to collect enough money to flee the doomed star system.

The player travels the solar system in his ship. When encountering neutral vessels, the player can choose to try and attack them. Battling with other ships is done in a Star Control-style minigame where the player and the opponent navigate their ships around a limited playfield, shooting at each other until one's health is fully depleted. Once the enemy ship is put out of commission, a "boarding" minigame follows: a top-down shooting game in which the player controls one of his crewmen during a heated gunfight with the enemy crew. Captured ships can be added to the player's fleet, and later assist the player during battles. When visiting planets, the player can sell ill-gotten goods, repair ships, and take on various missions to earn additional money.
