WinWar II
Description
WinWar II is a shareware, strategy game based on World War II that can be played over a local network by sharing a common network file among the players.
In this game the player(s) take the part of the seven major participants of the war USA, UK, France, Russia for the Allies and Germany, Italy and Japan for the Axis powers. The objective is for either side to capture three capital cities from their opponents. Unusually, at least in the early stages, the USA is one of the weaker countries producing less armaments per turn than the Axis forces reflecting the fact that they were not prepared for the war. In each turn players have so many points to use, these can be spent improving their production capacity, improving their level of technology, building ships, factories, planes, troops etc. or moving their forces around and engaging in warfare. In the standard game only friendly forces are visible but there is an option to make all forces visible.
The game map is scrollable and covers the whole world so, for example, forces can be moved off the eastern side of the map to attack the enemy on the west.
