Word Island

Word Island is a collection of word and typing mini-games with cartoon monkeys as their main protagonists.

In the two word scramble games (simply called 'Jungle' and 'Temple'), the aim is to create as many words as possible in the allotted time, either 100 or 150 seconds depending on the difficulty level, by clicking on the letters at the bottom of the screen or typing them directly. Longer words are worth more points and words with four or more letters grant for the next round an extra blue bonus letter (up to a maximum of two) that acts as a multiplier - the point value for a word gets doubled when using a blue bonus letter and tripled when using two. A bonus stage is unlocked after completing a certain number of words. Here the goal is to guess the missing letter in as many of the words shown on screen as possible, within the 30-second limit.

In the two typing games (called 'Waterfall' and 'River'), the aim is to type as many of the words that appear on the rocks, branches, or logs the monkey is standing on, within the time limit (100, 120, or 200 seconds depending on the difficulty level). Each word correctly typed let the monkey progress further along the river or up the waterfall. If the player is too slow to type a word correctly, the monkey is moved back to the start of the level.

Each game is playable in three difficulty levels: easy, medium, and hard.
