World Wars II: Pacific Conflicts
Description
World Wars II: Pacific Conflicts is essentially the same game as World Wars: European Conflicts, just this time set in the Pacific Theatre. The 15 missions deal with the Philippines campaign, the New Guinea campaign and the Allied offensive. The main addition to the predecessor is the added support for competitive multiplayer over system link and internet. The game modes are deathmatch, capture the gold (find the gold pot in the enemy base and transport it into the own) and capture the flag (actually not the traditional CTF, but territorial control).
The basic idea is simple: the player controls a single unit and moves towards the enemy in order to kill all of them. If the unit is dead, the player switches to the next one and continues until the game is lost (all units are gone, time limit is up) or won by fulfilling all mission objectives (usually these simple involve destroying all enemy opposition, but sometimes there are also other things to do like rescuing prisoners). The speciality is that there are twelve unit types and vehicles which all have their own control scheme and uses, e.g. tanks, aircraft, transportation vehicles, ship and infantry.
