Written Legends: Nightmare at Sea

Ripped apart by the powerful force of ghost Pirate Davy Jones you and your father sink to the bottom of the ocean. You awaken to find Davy Jones is sinking passing ships, taking their crew as souls to belong to him. When your father is captured by the notorious pirate you set off across the sea to face his trials while starting an uprising with those he’s taken. Everyone is counting on you to stop Jones. The lives of you, your father and everyone whose souls Jones has taken depend on it!

Written Legends: Nightmare at Sea is a hidden object game (HOG). It follows a similar type of gameplay you'd find within this casual genre. You travel across the sea and sunken ships fulfilling requirements of Davy Jones. Every now and again certain screens will have a list of objects that need to be found. Each object found is struck off the list. Items are gathered in your journey which can be stored in your inventory. These items are used to unlock closed off barriers which help progress further into the game. As more of the game is opened up the more souls you find who require help. Puzzles need to be solved which vary in difficulty. Hints can be used to find hidden objects, to provide assistance as to what to do next or to skip puzzles.

A journal keeps a log of your discoveries and provides a task list. You also have a map to help guide you around locations. Your location is always marked on the map while your destination is highlighted in green.
