Xenominer

In Xenominer, the player crashlands on a strange planet and now needs to survive. Similar to Minecraft, the whole randomly generated world is made of blocks which can be mined away and used to construct buildings somewhere else. All blocks have different properties and effects when used for construction. They can also be used to craft entirely new items.

The big difference to Minecraft is the stronger focus on the survival aspect. While some hostile alien creatures roam about and need to be disposed of with weapons, the true enemy is the sun and the radiation it emits. The player always needs to look after vital signs like radiation poisoning and oxygen supply in order to survive. Further along the line there are also bots to find which can be programmed to take over tasks.
