Xygoid

Xygoid is a 1-player arcade game for the TRS-80 CoCo.

Your ship is being enshrouded by the Xygoid Web. Certain death is minutes away! You must blast the through the enveloping Web and destroy the Xygoid vessel before you are crushed.

The player controls a small vessel that moves laterally on the bottom of the screen, and fires vertically upwards. The player must avoid enemy fire while trying to blow a hole through the rotating enemy shields to hit the vessel above. As the lower level shields are depleted, they can be replaced, making it more difficult to hit the enemy vessel. On harder levels, more rotating shields appear. A timer on the bottom of the screen marks the time remaining until the player's ship is destroyed. The player starts with 3 ships.
