Yoko-Shyu 198X

Yoko-Shyu 198x is a side scrolling shoot-em-up game where the player controls a spaceship. When the game starts the players ship is armed with a front facing vulcan gun. The gun will auto upgrade over time. A progress bar at the bottom of the screen indicates when the next upgrade will occur and this progress bar grows when the player doesn't shoot. The game consists of ten levels and one final boss. In each level the player must destroy a certain amount of enemies, for example 60%, if this is not achieved the player loses a life. If the player manage to achieve the kill rate in all of the levels he/she will earn a big bonus. In addition to keep out of the way for enemies the player must also keep an eye on the fuel meter since once it reaches zero the player dies. Additional fuel can be collected by destroying fuel tanks. The layout of each level is random and changes between games.
