The game has a story mode and a battle mode. In the story mode, the player gets to take a team of five fighters through a tournament. If one of their fighters get beaten, they can use another fighter on their team to continue on. Fighters can use kicks and punches and also use a couple of special moves during fights. Each fighter has their own attributes also dealing with things like how high they can jump or how hard they hit. Between some fights in story mode , one of two minigames will happen where items can be won.
In battle mode, players can pick from a roster of 13 fighters to do battle with.
The game has four difficulty levels to pick from.
