ZAP!!

ZAP!! is an arcade style game of navigation and timing. The player takes their turn navigating a cursor in a playfield full of randomly laid down colorful symbols. There are five types of symbol which should be picked up (by running over them) and one type -the asterisk- which should be avoided. The objective is to score as high as possible within a set time limit and not touch an asterisk. The score itself is derived from the amount of symbols taken and their individual type, as not all types are equally valuable. The playfield has no boundaries, so when you run beyond the edge of the screen, it wraps around and you reappear at the opposite side. Each round lasts two minutes, if you survive that is, because collision with an asterisk will prematurely end your run. There are five degrees of difficulty to choose from, affecting the amount and density of asterisks. Up to six players can play in hot-seat mode and a full game can be set from one to five rounds per player.
