Zoids 2: Zenebas no Gyakushū
Description
The second Zoids game on the Famicom adapts the Empire strikes back story from Zoids Battle Story, taking place in ZAC 2041, around the start of the Zenebas Empire's invasion of the Central Continent. Rather than playing as a Gojulas Zoid itself, you play a nameable Helic Republic pilot in this game, and the Zoid you start with is an Arosaurer.
Most of the gameplay of Zoids 2 remains similar to the first game, but it has also made some key changes. Republic settlements are populated by humans this time (not just Zoids like in the first game) and have a new facility: bank. This is in service of this game's fairly unique way of earning money, which does not drop from defeated enemies. Instead, when you defeat a Zenebas Zoid, you earn some bounty rewards which must be withdrawn from a bank before you can spend. Outside of settlements, enemies no longer roam the world map. Zoids 2 has completely switched to using a random encounter system. The game now has a fast travel feature to any visited settlement, unlocked by buying a Salamander.
