Double Fine Productions, Inc.

Description
Double Fine Productions was founded in July 2000, in an old clog shop in San Francisco, California, USA. The founder, Tim Schafer, created for his previous company (LucasArts) such games as Grim Fandango, Full Throttle, and (half of) Day of the Tentacle. He started Double Fine with a large part of the Grim Fandango team, as well as new hires.
After releasing their first game Psychonauts in 2005, they moved into different offices. The studio would, like its founding developers, be best known for adventure games.
In 2014, they launched the Double Fine Presents label for publishing projects by external indie developers. On 9 June 2019, the company was acquired by Microsoft and placed in its Xbox Game Studios label. The Double Fine Presents label would be wound down by mid-2020.
