In the 1970s, Dr. Foerst was interested was in driving simulators, simulation theory and engineering. The game Nürburgring 1 pioneered the first person driving game.

Dr. Foerst would later go on to start the driving simulator company Foerst Fahrsimulatoren which is still in business today. The company develops driving simulators for training purposes. The simulations include trucks, buses and emergency vehicles, as well as training for regular cars where students learn to drive in an eco-friendly and fuel-efficient way.
