Paradox Development Studio

Paradox Development Studio is the development division of Paradox Interactive AB. It was established when it was split off as separate company in January 2012.

On 30th April 2021 it was announced that the name Paradox Development Studio is no longer used for the single studio, but that earlier that year the team was split up in three distinct studios internally called PDS Green, PDS Red, and PDS Gold. Together they still form the entity Paradox Development Studio.

PDS Green is in charge of the development of Stellaris and it is led by Rikard Åslund.PDS Green also works with the support of Paradox Arctic, the studio in Umeå.

PDS Red is in charge of the development of Crusader Kings III. They also work closely with Paradox Thalassic in Malmö. The studio is led by Johanna Uddståhl Friberg. She was previously Studio Manager for Arctic and worked on the coordination between all Paradox studios.

PDS Gold is in charge of Hearts of Iron IV. The lead of this studio is Thomas Johansson.
