Vitei Inc.

Vitei Inc. is a privately held company that specializes in video game development. From inception, the the company has worked exclusively as contractor for Nintendo on the development of various first-party software. The company is based in Kyoto, Japan and was founded in June 2002 by former Nintendo programmer Giles Goddard. Vitei is considered an extension of the Nintendo Kyoto R&D Nintendo EAD (now Nintendo EPD).

There is a sister company Vitei Backroom Inc. with more creative freedom and a looser organization. It was created to make prototypes of virtual reality software and experimental games. The main Vitei company is often referenced as Frontroom. On 9th October 2020 Backroom was re-branded Chuhai Labs.
