Acorn Arcade
Description
Acorn Arcade is a mini-game from Fisher Price Ready For School: 1st Grade title, it was released separately as a demo game and appears on some shareware compilations.
This is a simple shooting game in which the player helps Sammy Squirrel in a word game. At the bottom of the screen is a megaphone, this tells the player what to do - usually "Find the word that begins with the sound ...." or "Find the word that rhymes with ...". The player selects either a picture or a word from the three options offered with the mouse and the gun then shoots it with acorns. Every time the player gets four answers correct the game rewards them with a bonus round.
There's no end to the game, it continues for as long as the player wants and ends only when the exit option is selected - however in the full game a successful player can win a virtual toy which appears in their virtual tree house.
The game plays in full screen mode, the action takes place in a small central area surrounded by black borders
