Bankroll: The Investment Game

Description

Bankroll: The Investment Game is a 2–4 player commodities trading game for the TI-99/4A.

Starting with $10,000, the object of the game is to be the first person to reach a level of financial success agreed upon at the start of the game. Possible sources of income include dividends paid by certain investments, capital gains realized when sale price is higher than purchase price, and interest received from uninvested cash. Expenses include commissions paid on sales, capital loss, interest charged on any debt, and taxes.

Capital gains tax, income tax, interest rates, brokerage commission, and commodity prices fluctuate every turn. There is also a chance of headline events which can drastically change market conditions. Wars can last for several turns.

Each turn the player can buy or sell commodities which have different levels of volatility and dividends The player can purchase municipal bonds, corporate bonds, utility stocks, industrial stocks, high tech stocks, petroleum reserves, real estate investments, drilling oil, and gold.
