Beneath the Stars

Beneath the Stars is a fixed screen shoot 'em up where the player is the commander of a space base that has to protected as it is being attacked by aliens. A large generator is located at the bottom of the screen and above it is a force field that offers protection. The aliens appear from the top and will attempt to blast holes into the force field before crashing into the generator.

The player is in control of two different vehicles, a space lazer and a repair craft, that can be moved left and right over the force field. The space lazer is used to shoot down the aliens while the repair craft is used to repair holes in the force field. While the repair craft can move over holes the lazer will fall down and destroy the generator if it attempts to do so. The lazer does however have a thrust that allow it to fly over holes. Additionally there are two stationary weapons located at the sides of the screen: missiles and a neutron gun. The game ends if the aliens hit the generator more than once.
