Black Hole

Game cover: Black Hole

Description

It's those pesky aliens again. This time they have stolen a whole city, and it is up to you to get it back. Black Hole is a space based vertical shoot-em-up. You control a space-ship that moves back and forwards along the bottom of the screen and fires upwards, and must battle your way through two stages

In the first stage, your goal is at the top, but the path between you and the alien thief is fraught with peril. There is a neutron mine field which completely blocks your shots, but may be slowly eroded over the course of the game. The area is also infested by slow moving black holes. These are indestructable forces of nature, but shooting one will cause it to "open up" for some short period of time, allowing your ship to pass through the event horizon in one piece. Destroying all of the neutron mines, or successfully making it through the whole field will take you to the next stage.

In the second stage, you directly encounter the thieving aliens. They have surrounded themselves with special reflective mines which will cause your own shots to bounce back, possibly leading to your own demise. The alien and accompanying mines are always moving about, and will cause your demise if you are hit with a mine. The aim is to shoot the alien vessel through a small pathway in the mines that occasionally opens up. After this is complete, the game loops back to the first stage with slightly faster moving black holes. The game continues until you run out of lives.
