Game cover: Can You Gerrymander Your Party to Power?

Description

Can You Gerrymander Your Party to Power? is an educational simulation game presented by the New York Times that puts the player in charge of an imaginary state named Hexopolis, represented by a hex grid of 135 hexagons. Each hexagon represented one voter, colored yellow or purple to represent the party they vote for. You are assigned one of the two colors and tasked with drawing nine districts of 15 people each. The idea is to draw the districts so that they favor one party over another. A further complication is the presence of minority voters as indicated by a bold outline on the hexagon; at least two districts must be majority-minority. When the player fulfills the conditions or chooses to give, they are then taken to a page explaining gerrymandering further, plus solutions to the puzzle.
