Car Mechanic Simulator 2018
Description
Car Mechanic Simulator 2018 is a single-player vehicle repair and management simulation game. The player takes the role of a mechanic who builds a garage business from humble beginnings, starting with small repair jobs and gradually working toward restoring and customizing rare and high-performance cars. There is no overarching story, but the progression is tied to growing the workshop, increasing available tools, and expanding the scale of projects the player can undertake.
Gameplay centers on diagnosing issues in customer vehicles and carrying out the necessary repairs. Jobs are generated with varying complexity, ranging from oil changes and brake replacements to complete engine rebuilds. Vehicles are disassembled into hundreds of individual parts, each of which can be removed, inspected, and replaced. Every component has its own condition percentage, influencing whether it must be repaired, replaced, or left untouched.
Progression is earned through successful completion of jobs, which grant both money and experience points. Experience unlocks new abilities on a skill tree, such as faster part installation, improved diagnostics, or better repair chances at the workbench. Currency can be reinvested into expanding the workshop with additional stations, including test paths, paint shops, and engine stands, which allow for more advanced modifications.
The game also features car auctions, barns, and junkyards where players can purchase neglected vehicles, strip them down, and restore them for resale or personal collection. This system creates a cycle of acquisition, repair, and resale, offering variety beyond customer contracts. A photo mode and customization tools allow for presentation of finished projects.
Secondary systems include detailed inventory and part management, where the player must balance costs with profit margins. Diagnostic mini-systems, such as test driving a car to replicate issues or using a compression tester, add to the authenticity of the repair process. The game simulates realistic assembly order, requiring components to be removed in proper sequence before access to others is granted.
