Car Town Streets

Car Town Streets is a free-to-play mobile simulation and racing game developed as part of the Car Town franchise. It is the follow-up to the web game Car Town. Designed for casual players of all ages, the game combines city-building mechanics with vehicle collection, light racing elements, and a vibrant cartoon aesthetic. It allows players to create a personalized car-themed town filled with licensed vehicles and mini-games.

Set in a fictional town where cars are both characters and community members, Car Town Streets tasks players with restoring the area to its former glory. Players join a central character named Roxy to rebuild and expand the town, which involves collecting cars, upgrading them, and constructing various automotive-themed businesses and facilities. The overarching gameplay loop blends town management with car restoration and racing-based challenges.

Players can collect and customize a wide range of cars—over 60 in total—representing more than 35 licensed automobile manufacturers, including brands like Ford, Lamborghini, Subaru, and Volkswagen. Vehicles can be upgraded with performance parts, repainted, assigned personalized license plates, and even named by the player. Once restored and tuned, cars can be organized into teams to participate in head-to-head race battles against AI-controlled rivals or other players' teams.

In addition to racing and upgrading, the game includes a number of non-racing tasks, such as having cars deliver pizza, operate town services like gas stations and car washes, or relax at in-game venues like the drive-in theater. These features contribute to a loop of resource gathering, vehicle maintenance, and town expansion, designed to reward consistent play over time.

The game also incorporates social features, enabling players to visit towns built by Game Center and Facebook friends, send virtual gifts, and compare progress. Some content was tied to special promotions, such as themed features based on Hot Wheels and Ghostbusters, including loop-de-loop stunt tracks and the iconic Ecto-1 vehicle. While free-to-play, it includes optional in-app purchases that allow players to speed up construction, unlock exclusive content, or acquire rare cars more quickly.
