Castle Guard
Description
Castle Guard is a1 - 2 player arcade game for the TRS-80 CoCo.
The estates of Lord Schmegley and Lord Dumschtuff have been feuding two decades, the point of dispute long forgotten. The continuing violence brought anguish and disruption to the entire kingdom and all who lived there. The good king could tolerate no more, and therefore commissioned the wizard Merlin to use his mystical wisdom to find a solution.
Colored smoke and roaring sounds billowed from Merlin's cave for a fortnight. Suddenly one midday, darkness befell the land. A flaming star burst forth from the cave's entrance. Behind this deadly fireball appeared Merlin, carrying two long magical pikes.
Each player controls a magical pike, as they try to bounce the fireball between the opposite sides of the screen. The pike can be moved in all directions, and if their castle is hit by a fireball, it takes damage. Two lakes, each in a corner of the screen, serve to slow the fireball by cooling it down. The battle continues until only one Lord has a castle left standing.
