Classic Japanese Monster Castle

Description
Classic Japanese Monster Castle is a 2D platform game that was revised several times between 1991 and 1993 with new and different content. A castle monster stalk Bololandia, north of Japan, and the player's character is a brave bolote who attempts to stop the monster. The castle consists of three parts with different gameplay. It contains various single-screen rooms that are connected vertically at the start. A room is completed when the bolote manages to reach the top of the room, entering a new one. The first part consists of platform sections where the goal is only to reach the top while avoiding enemies by jumping. The second part is similar, but introduces moving platforms. The final part takes place underground with a different setting. The player's character has three lives and in some screens an extra life is hidden. Contact with an enemy or a hazard removes a life. The game ends with a boss fight.
