Codebreaker

Codebreaker is a puzzle game about codes, ciphers, and secret messages. Players adventure through four worlds, cracking codes along the way, and learn the basics of cryptography. The game includes a PDF Code Book which is in fact a mini textbook about the history of secret messages, full of examples of many codes and ciphers through history, including specific information needed to play the game.

The game is divided into the following sections, each with three levels of difficulty.* Music World: musical notation is itself a kind of code, and musical symbols can be used as cipher symbols.

• Science World: binary numbers, and codes based on the primary colours.
• Underwater World: morse code, semaphore, and nautical flags are standard ways to send messages.
• Gangster World: criminals and spies need the most secure codes of all.

The four worlds are completely independent and can be played in any order. Within each world, each difficulty level must be completed before moving on to the next, and progress is saved only after the level is complete. The codes are randomised every time, so the game can be played again and again.
