Conjecture
Description
Conjecture is a 1 - 4 player Apple II game based upon Wheel of Fortune.
Similar to the famous TV gameshow, 1 - 4 players take turns guessing letters to attempt to solve a short phrase. Each player spins a wheel, which can award the player with a certain amount of money per consonant guessed correctly, but can also lead the player to lose a turn, go bankrupt, or grant them a free vowel. Otherwise, vowels have to be purchased with the player's cash. A hostess walks across the screen flipping correct letters, similar to the real game show. The active player can choose to try to solve the puzzle at any time, and the one who solves correctly wins the round. After several rounds, the player with the highest monetary total proceeds to the bonus round, where they attempt to solve a phrase through just 5 consonants and a single vowel. Each turn is timed, with a clock rapidly counting down the player's turn.
