Curtain

Curtain is a short narrative set in Glasgow, Scotland in 2013 about the queer girl Ally Harrison who is in an abusive relationship with Kaci Hudson. They are both members of the punk band Kaci's Party. The game is played from a first-person perspective with free movement in a pixelated environment. Mostly set at an apartment where they live it shows the events unfolding over the course of several days after a gig.

Ally can move around in the apartment and examine objects that are usually highlighted in a different colour. It mostly plays out like a visual novel. Her thoughts about the objects and events appear in text near the top of the screen, but simultaneously it shows the controlling Kaci's comments on it in a textbox at the bottom of the screen. The game aims to let the player experience the effects of being in an overwhelming, stifling atmosphere where someone watches and comments on your every thought and action.

The game takes about half an hour to finish.
