Cybernation

Cybernation is a first-person semi-realtime maze exploration and combat game for the Apple II.

Travel to the year 3922, where the player must combat the powerful Entolion cyborgs. There are a total of 3 gameplay levels, with the goal being to disarm nuclear warheads within the enemy base. Played from a first-person perspective, all game controls are via menus controlled with the Apple paddles. The player can choose a difficulty level from 0 to 40. On level 0, the player must destroy the 3 laser defense towers which protect the enemy base, and then enter through the main entrance. On level 1, the player must infiltrate the Entolion base, collect keys, and ultimately unlock the doors to the next level. In this stage, the player must avoid powerful cyborg enemies, or shoot them with their lasers. On level 2, the player must guess the correct locking combination on a series of doors, similar to the board game Mastermind.

The player can move in the 4 cardinal directions, shoot their laser gun if an enemy is present, or launch a probe which can search for enemies. The player has limited fuel for moving their ship, as well as limited shield power and energy for their own laser gun. The player is armed with a battery which can selectively recharge one of these functions if the player's power runs low. Additionally, the player can launch probes which can seek out enemy vessels.
