Das Rätsel um die 7. Kolonie, translated to Mystery of the 7th Colony in English, is a fairly standard text adventure game released in Germany for the Commodor 16, Plus/4. In the game, the player must type in commands to their keyboard to that indicate actions they would like to do to try and interact with the world around them. A graphical representation of the current location that the player is in is displayed above the text input area for the game.

In the game, the player plays as a mechanical robot who in the year 2010 has been sent to "Limba" the 7th colony of Earth. Limba was a very advanced metropolis of scientific research, but suddenly all contact with the colony has been lost. The player is tasked with finding a secret disk hidden in Limba which contain the last messages left by the colony, and the player must decode the messages to solve the mystery of what happened to bring about the colony's sudden radio silence.

The game recognizes eighteen verbs that the player can use to interact with the world, and they are as follows:
