Defend

Defend is a 1-player arcade game for the TRS-80.

The invaders have arrived. The player has 90 seconds to destroy as many space invaders as possible. They control a small spaceship which moves horizontally on the bottom of the screen, and fires forward to destroy alien vessels moving horizontally on the screen. The player must avoid fire from the invaders. The player loses 100 points if hit. They gain 25 points for hitting an invader in the 1st row, 50 points for the middle row, and 100 points for the top row. The player gains points for clearing out a row. The player changes direction when they shoot, and there can only be 2 shots in the air at one time. The player receives an extra 20 seconds if they reach a score of 600.
