Destiny 2

Description
Destiny 2 is a multiplayer online first-person shooter with role-playing and shared-world elements. The game takes place in a science-fantasy universe where humanity’s last safe city is protected by the Guardians, warriors who wield the Light of the Traveler. After a surprise invasion by the alien Cabal led by Dominus Ghaul, the Guardians are stripped of their powers and scattered. Players take the role of a Guardian who must regain their Light, rally the survivors, and push back the Cabal to reclaim the Last City and restore hope.
Combat is the central activity and is structured around missions, cooperative strikes, raids, and competitive multiplayer. Players choose from three Guardian classes: Titan, Hunter, and Warlock, each offering unique abilities and subclasses that define playstyle. Weapons are divided into kinetic, energy, and power slots, and players can switch loadouts to adapt to enemies and objectives. Gunplay is fast-paced and combines conventional firearms with supernatural powers such as grenades, melee strikes, and ultimate abilities known as Supers.
Progression is measured by Power level, a score determined by the overall strength of equipped gear. Completing missions, public events, and activities provides new weapons and armor with higher values, encouraging players to continuously upgrade equipment. Quests and milestones guide progression by offering structured rewards, while random drops and loot systems add variety. Exotic weapons and armor provide distinctive abilities that significantly alter gameplay strategies.
The world is divided into explorable planetary zones such as Earth’s European Dead Zone, Titan, Nessus, and Io. Each location contains patrol missions, hidden chests, Lost Sectors, and dynamic public events where multiple players can cooperate without formal grouping. Social spaces such as the Farm and later the Tower serve as hubs where Guardians can interact, collect bounties, purchase gear, and access vault storage.
Clans allow groups of players to organize and earn shared rewards, while raids and Nightfall strikes provide high-difficulty cooperative challenges that require coordination and communication. The Crucible offers structured competitive matches with objective-based and free-for-all modes. Seasonal events and expansions have added new content, altering progression systems and introducing fresh activities.
