Detour

Detour is a real-time strategy game in which players must build roads connecting their factories to the other side of the map, and send delivery trucks onto such roads. The terrain might have many obstacles, which can be dealt with building bridges and tunnels, or explosives to clear out paths. Once a certain number of trucks make it across the map (usually three), the game is won.

But other players are also building their own roads. Using an arsenal of weapons — bombs, EMPs, dynamite, etc. — the opponents' roads and structures can be destroyed. All of those cost money, which steadily enters the account, and whose flow can be increased by connecting roads to a few goldmines scattered around the map.

Though a game of strategy, the action is quite frantic, and a player must act quickly in order to be able to win. The game has a short solo campaign, but also a multiplayer mode.
