Diamond Valley 2023

Diamond Valley 2023, marketed simply as Diamond Valley, is a limited-time game released by Google as a promotional event for their app store rewards program Google Play Points, as well as to advertise popular apps who partnered to sponsor the Diamond Valley game. The game was accessible from web browsers or the Google Play mobile app on Android phones.

The game was a follow-up to Diamond Valley 2022, but was handled by a different development studio. Diamond Valley 2023 was created exclusively for the Korean market, and was playable for four weeks. The game was later released in June 2024 in the United States, featuring a full translation to English as well various minor updates including updating the hub city to contain different visuals and swapping out the sponsoring apps.

Despite being released in the next calendar year, the United States received the Diamond Valley 2023 game, not its sequel, Diamond Valley 2024.

The game is a simple 2D platformer in which the player can walk left and right, jump, talk to characters, and access a persistent inventory. The player takes on the role of an "engineer" who appears one day in the technologically advanced Diamond City. They are equipped with a mysterious "tool" that they are able to use to fix robots, who make up the majority of the Diamond City population. The player is guided through the game by "Little-bot" after repairing the friendly robot. Other real-life players in the game can be seen in the hub world but cannot be interacted with.

There are five primary levels in the game that the player progresses through in the story: the Warehouse, Hotel, Luxury Store, Depths, Diamond Core. There are also additional areas of Diamond Rise, Crystal Cave, and "???". Each level has a certain amount of Diamonds that can be collected within it, and Diamonds could be spent to buy entries for raffle giveaways of real-world branded merchandise for the sponsoring apps. (Such as hats, water bottles, T-shirts, plushes, and more.) In the United States release, sponsoring apps included Candy Crush, Duolingo, Last Fortress: Underground, Honkai: Star Rail, Rise of Castles, Last Shelter: Survival, and others.

In South Korea, Diamond Valley 2023 launched on August 1, 2023 and was taken offline on August 29, 2023. In the United States, it was online from June 17, 2024 until July 15, 2024. Prizes were sent out to the raffle winners shortly after.
