Drakerider

Description
Drakerider is an episodic role-playing game developed, with episodes available individually or as a complete bundle. The game blends narrative-driven progression with action-oriented combat centered on dragon riding and real-time control mechanics.
The story follows Aran, a tracker tasked with escorting a young girl back to her family. During this mission, the land of Igraine is threatened by the return of demonic beings known as the Dread. Aran becomes a dragalier, a warrior who forms a binding contract with the kingdom’s only dragon to defend the realm from destruction. The narrative unfolds episodically, with dialogue sequences interspersed between combat encounters.
Gameplay is structured around an overworld map that allows players to travel to locations where demonic activity is detected. Each destination leads to short combat stages featuring waves of enemies and occasional boss battles. Story segments and character progression occur between these encounters.
Combat revolves around a distinctive chain-based control system that represents the dragon’s mental stability. If left unmanaged, the dragon can enter a berserk state, attacking indiscriminately. Players must swipe across the screen to manage chains that are divided into color-coded phases (blue, green, and yellow) each associated with different abilities and risk levels. Blue phases emphasize defense and recovery, while yellow phases offer higher damage at the cost of increased instability. Equipment and skill tree upgrades influence how these phases are balanced and how abilities are unlocked.
Character progression is handled through a skill tree system that grants new abilities and enhancements. Additional content includes repeatable dungeon areas designed for gaining experience and collecting resources. Optional in-app purchases are available to accelerate progression, though the game is designed to be playable without them.
