Empyrian Challenge
Description
Empyrian Challenge is a play-by-mail game running on a CDC mainframe computer. The game is played with 150 players, who vie for control of a star cluster of 100 solar systems of 500 planets in total. Moves made by players are hidden from other players.
Each player starts on a planet together with 24 other players. Interaction between players allows for negotiations and war. Aside from that the player must deal with feeding their population, fueling their economy, dealing with rebellions, exploring the galaxy, interstellar travel and building colonies.
The time between turns is one or two months.
