Fatal Smarties

Fatal Smarties is a 2D side-scrolling action game for two players that need to work together. It was created as a homebrew Genesis / SEGA Mega Drive title in 48 hours for the Global Game Jam. The two players control two hillbilly heroes that move around on a single homemade flippercopter. They need to repel demonic waves of evil as the occultic ritual-performing locals have taken things out of control. One player flies the flippercopter and the other player shoots. It has an endless number of waves. The characters can be hit twice before the game is over. After being hit once, there is a period of five seconds where they remain vulnerable for a second shot. If they survive that period, everything returns to normal.
