Feuer and Gasse
Description
Feuer and Gasse is a realtime strategy wargame for the TRS-80 CoCo.
Based upon the decisive World War I Battle of Belleau Woods during the Spring Offensive of 1918 which pitted American troops against German forces, the player takes command of the American 2nd Division.
The player controls infantry, marine, machine gun, engineer, and field artillery regiments. The player must move troops over a variety of terrain, which effect combat and movement speed. Combat occurs by moving forces over enemy positions. Ranged units can fire upon entrenched German positions. Strength of American and German forces can be reviewed at any time. The initial goal is to capture the town of Vaux, after which air force can be called against German forces. The final goal is to force German surrender by securing Belleau Woods and capturing Chateau Thierry. The player must contend with German artillery fire, gas, and air attacks.
There are 5 levels of difficulty, where 3 represents historical conditions. Games can be saved in progress.
